If you've ever seen circular, web-like scratches in your car's paint when the sun hits at the right angle โ€” those are swirl marks. They're the most common paint defect on Indian cars, and almost every car has them to some degree.

What Causes Swirl Marks?

  • Automatic brush car washes โ€” the primary cause
  • Wiping a dusty car with a dry cloth
  • Using the wrong microfibre towel or applying too much pressure
  • Incorrect drying technique after washing
  • Dealer polishing with incorrect equipment before delivery

Can Swirl Marks Be Removed?

Yes โ€” completely. Swirl marks exist within the clear coat layer of your paint. Machine polishing removes a microscopic layer of the clear coat, eliminating the scratches and restoring a flat, reflective surface. This is what we call paint correction.

Depending on the severity, a single-stage correction removes 50โ€“60% of defects while a three-stage full correction removes up to 95%. The result is mirror-level paint clarity that you simply cannot achieve with wax or polish alone.
